The Men Responsible
Shane Silman
Director
Shane Silman is a freelance writer, artist, and actor.
He has starred in 33 professional stage plays and 3 independent films. His first directing endeavor was a production of one of his own plays, 'Men Seeking Women', performed at the 701 Gallery, in conjunction with their annual Valentine's Day event, to standing-room-only audiences and much acclaim.
He is also currently working on a new novel dealing with alternate realities and online relationships.
'Plan 9 From Outer Space' is, by far, his favorite Ed Wood film.
Nick Dunn
Executive Producer
Nick Dunn is an actor, writer, fire eater, and...he's just an entertainer in general, really. He's been making people laugh since he was a kid, and he sees no reason to stop doing it now. He's just now getting back into acting after roughly a twelve-year hiatus; you may have seen him recently playing Mr. White in "Reservoir Dogs." If you didn't then you should have. I mean, really. How did you miss that?
Nick - "Danger" to some of his friends - enjoys long walks on the beach, camping, doing your mother, writing fake Craigslist ads, setting himself on fire, dinosaurs, Salma Hayek, singing karaoke, dressing in a suit, jetpacks, pretty, dark-haired women, and breakfast food.
He has seen "Plan 9 From Outer Space" a grand total of three times in his life. The first two times actually gave him a headache. The third time was fine, but mostly because it was a Rifftrax Live event and there was plenty of laughter to cut the pain. Performing in a stage version may give him an aneurysm, a risk that he's perfectly willing to accept in the name of entertainment.
Nick has a beard. You can touch it, but get his permission first.
Chris Bickel
Executive Producer
Chris Bickel is buyer/curator for one of the nation's best vintage record shops. He is also the host of the 7-years-running "Mr B's Goodtime Karaoke Explosion" event at the world-famous Art Bar, as well as being an accomplished recording artist with over 50 releases to his credit.
Bickel is currently finishing a new LP release for his group Anakrid as well as preparing materials for showing this year of art and photographic works.
Bickel first saw Plan 9 From Outer Space on Count Gore De Vol's Creature Feature where he recorded it with the family's newly purchased first VHS VCR for revisitation numerous times throughout his formative years.
